YOU’RE OK WITH YOUR CHIN BUT NOT A DOUBLE ONE

Kybella is a prescription injectable that can gradually and non-surgically melt submental fat.

Kybella is a nonsurgical injectable treatment for reducing fat beneath the chin, with an active ingredient that can combat wrinkles and reverse the aging process. To target the fat cells in this region, a series of deoxycholic acid injections are used. In most situations, no incisions are necessary, and downtime is limited.

When you schedule a safe, professional treatment with a team of highly trained professionals, you can guarantee a seamless process with minimal side effects.

Improve your chin profile with our Kybella professionals.

Most Common Side Effects of Kybella

Kybella treatments can be done with minimal discomfort to the patient. Although kybella isn’t the only FDA approved fat reduction remedy, it is one of the most trusted.

Here are a few common but minimally invasive side effects after your kybella treatment: headache, numbness of the jaw, bruising, difficulty swallowing, high blood pressure, and nausea.

If pain persists following treatment, there are a number of safe creams that can be applied to the area to help alleviate pain. There is little chance that you would require prescription medicine for recovery.

On the more serious end of the potential side effects, you’ll have skin ulcerations or facial muscle weakness but this is very unlikely.

Improve the contours of your face without surgery. Cut out severe fat or excess fat and feel more confident in your own skin. Sometimes genetics gets in the way but you can combat it with kybella.

INDICATIONS

  • Double chin
  • Bra fat, off-label
  • Small fat deposits elsewhere on body, off-label

THE TREATMENT

A dot-like grid is applied to the desired area and placed in such a way that it avoids the nerve coming up the side of your chin. The dots are a guide as to where the small injections should be placed. There can be some swelling and tenderness afterwards lasting for one to two weeks. Treatments are repeated every 2 to 3 months. The average patient requires 2 to 3 treatment sessions. Large double chins might benefit first from debulking with CoolSculpting before using Kybella for the finishing touch. Not everyone is a candidate, so please consult with us first.

THE SCIENCE

Before FDA clearing, Kybella was under development during 9 years and tested in 20 clinical studies on more than 2500 patients. Kybella is made of deoxycholic acid. This acid is actually a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

Frequently Asked Questions

While Kybella is one of the more expensive fat removal procedures, professionals say it is worth the money. This non-invasive procedure is approved by the FDA for fat removal located just below the chin and in the neck region. Kybellais known to yield positive results, so it is a good option for many people.

Yes. The substance that is injected into the area works to permanently dissolve any fat that is present. After one to three initial sessions, you should not need any repeat treatments in the future unless you gain weight and more fat accumulates in this area.

While Kybella is very effective for removing fat that causes someone to have a double chin, it will not tighten the skin. If you lose a significant amount of fat from the chin, you may also want another procedure to manage excess skin in this area. For this reason, many people pair Kybella with skin tightening procedures such as Ultherapy, which boosts collagen production.

For most people, it takes four to six weeks to see dramatic results. However, if you need more than one session, you will need to wait eight to ten weeks between them to allow your body to recover. In these cases, improvements will be visible four to six weeks after the last session occurs.
