It used to be that facial aesthetics were acceptable only among gay guys. Then it became cool for the metrosexual male. Today, the field has been enthusiastically embraced and enjoyed by a rapidly rising percentage of all men.
Men have specific concerns:
Well, yes. We all are. With the passage of time, we lose structural facial bone as well as fat pad and skin thickness. In aesthetic dermatology, we call that “facial skeletonization”. Bony outlines become more prominent, the eyes appear hollow, the face starts looking gaunt, the skin starts sagging and the youthful jaw line disappears. Serial studies have shown that these changes actually start in our late 20s and early 30s. The eventual effect is basically the result of multi-level volume loss and not gravity as was once thought.
It therefore stands to reason that the logical way to address this loss is to restore it with the use of fillers. The right kind of fillers, the right amounts and in the right places. Gone are the days of chasing wrinkles. Today, our goal is to restore an overall youthful contour in a very subtle way, to give you, not a different you, but a more youthful, refreshed you. In there lies the skill, the eye and the experience of the injector.
Men often get squeamish at the thought of getting injected. Today, all fillers are mixed with an anesthetic. Most men return to work right after treatment. Luckily, men bruise less easily then women. We do not have you stop your daily medicines before treatment.
Aging is not gradual, it is exponential. In the next 5 years, you will likely age as fast as you did over the previous 10. So, it is a good idea to get a jump start, with small steps if you prefer.
Please know that, at Greenwich Dermatology, all injections are exclusively performed by us, experienced and trusted board-certified dermatologists.

Men can benefit from fillers to slow the aging process and smooth wrinkles. There are many options, including Sculptra, Juvederm, and Radiesse. Your dermatologist can remove Sculptra and Juvederm if you would like them out, but Radiesse is a more permanent option that can only dissolve on its own. This will take about two years.
Many men prefer to get them along the jawline for more definition, which is called jawline sculpting. But it’s also common for men to get fillers in the nasolabial folds (the lines on each side of the nose) and the cheeks.
Jaw fillers cost between $600 and $1,000 per session, with a total of two to four sessions recommended.
If men do not want injectable fillers, they can still get procedures that tighten the skin and smooth wrinkles. One alternative is Kybella, which is a surgery specifically designed to remove fat from the jaw and chin area. Another option is a thread lift that places dissolvable fibers under the skin to contour and slim the area. Thread lifts are often used in the jaw area, but they can also be placed elsewhere in the face.
